Fireweed record times are subject riding conditions that vary from year to year. Ride times are impacted by weather, traffic, construction and safety measures implemented by race, traffic and/or law enforcement officials. These measures may include flag zones with traffic-control delays, pilot cars and even motorized shuttles through construction areas. In other words, the Fireweed course is not like a swimming pool where event conditions are carefully controlled. It’s an Alaska race course that always delivers something unexpected.
